A hypothesis

We are scientists.

Hypothesizing the

formula for life-Dicovering

the delicate balance

to a docile exisitence, wondering

how the magnanimous can still

contain their empathy for a

dystopian world of disease and

downtrodden merriment.

We are vulnerable.

So long ago we sat

with the warmth of the

sun tingling on our skin,

romanticizing the lives we would

create in our old age.

Our old age began at

the moment of birth-

we were wiser in those

brief seconds of life

than we will ever be again.

We accepted it all

without fear,

hesitation,

or prejudice.

We are not regret.

We cannot hide

from memory.  In idle moments

it creeps along the

cliffs of our present,

sometimes welcome.

It should not define us.

We are more than splintered

fragments of emotion

tacked to a photograph-

we are lessons learned

and choices made.

We are fierce

and resiliant. Our words

permeate the density

of closed minds and break,

like a spear,

through antagonism and fear.

We are every human who dared

to exhibit courage in the face of adversity.

Be proud of your glimmer!

For even the smallest spark

can ingnite the kindling

and reduce a word to ashes.
